I feel hungry all the time while trying to lose weight, is that normal?

I’ve recently started tracking calories, writing down almost everything. But there’s a constant feeling of hunger, and I seriously get angry when I don’t eat. At this point, is my body resisting or am I just being greedy? Is there anyone else who feels this way?

I experienced the same thing; I would wake up hungry in the mornings, and when I didn’t eat, I would feel dizzy from anger. I developed insulin resistance, but it got under control with the doctor’s diet. Have you ever had your blood values checked?

I think you should try increasing protein in your meals to curb hunger crises. Instead of light snacks, have a bowl of yogurt with some nuts or something. And are you drinking water regularly? If you’re lacking water, your hunger will be triggered even more.

Honestly, your eyes might not be satisfied a bit. You’ve said, “I write everything,” but let’s be honest, could you have also stopped writing about things you haven’t eaten? Also, you might have been psychologically pushing yourself more by constantly thinking about that hunger.

This could happen when the body notices a calorie deficit at the start of the diet. But if this continues, there could also be an issue related to hormones. It may be beneficial to check your leptin or ghrelin levels; an endocrinologist could provide a solution.

I’ll add this too, at first my appetite was a bit balanced, but for the last 2 weeks, this hunger thing has started. It especially happens at night, is this normal? I don’t have sugar cravings, but I’m always hungry.

I believe there’s no point in torturing your body while fighting hunger like this. The purpose of dieting is to be healthy, not to inflict pain on yourself. If your body is resisting, there’s a reason for it; moving forward in harmony makes more sense.

Dieting can be a bit different for men; if I create a calorie deficit, I can just lift weights and get through it. But I understand that hormonal balances might be more effective for you. It may require a bit more patience.
