My confidence was shattered after the short haircut

Last week, I went to the hairdresser and, on my friend’s recommendation, I got a short haircut, but now I seriously regret it. All those years I spent growing my hair are gone, and I’ve come to hate my reflection in the mirror when I bend down. What should I do now? Can I go back to how I used to be? Are there any ways to get through this situation?

I once got a short haircut too, and I was so regretful that I can’t even describe it. I literally couldn’t look at mirrors. But after a month or two, it starts to grow back, there’s no other option but to be patient.

How short did you get it cut? Is it completely blunt? The style also affects it, so maybe you’ll get it fixed.

@camkenari think of it as a shoulder-length bob. There’s a bit of layering around ear level, but it’s not looking the way I want it to.

Honestly, I think your friend is going full throttle. There’s no type that everyone will find suitable with short hair; you can’t trust anyone in these matters :woman_facepalming:

In a blunt cut, there’s always a shock until you get used to the reflection because the image changes dramatically. Adding a little more layering might have made it feel more natural. You can save the situation with a bit of styling mousse.

I think you should quickly show it to another hairdresser :woman_facepalming:

If you were so upset, why didn’t you say clearly that the hairdresser had made a mistake? At least they could have fixed it there.
