The hairdresser cut my hair horribly short, my boyfriend didn't like it at all

Yesterday, I decided to finally get a haircut like I’ve wanted for a long time, but the hairdresser completely misunderstood and took off way too much. When I got home, I could feel that my boyfriend was unhappy, even though he didn’t show it much. He said something like, ‘It was prettier before.’ I want to tell myself to make peace with it, but I can’t help it. Should I try to grow it out again? Or do you think he would get used to it?

So did you clearly explain what kind of style you wanted to the hairdresser before the cut? I mean, did you show any visuals or anything? Because sometimes it’s not entirely the hairdresser’s fault; it can be a misunderstanding.

I think instead of trying to grow your hair back immediately, you could go to the hairdresser and ask for a fix. In other words, they can shape it into a neater form with its short length. If the shape changes, maybe the way you feel about it will change too :slightly_smiling_face:

Your partner feeling a bit cold is probably not due to their hair but rather your low mood. Men generally focus on feelings rather than details. If you were in a good mood, they wouldn’t mind either.

Actually, the adaptation period for people regarding changes like hair can vary. They might criticize it due to the initial shock effect, but after a few weeks, they may get used to it. Focus on how you feel first.

You’re right, I was a bit excited when talking to the hairdresser, and I couldn’t clearly express the style. But I’m afraid if I ask to fix it, it will get even shorter. For now, I will just try to style it.

But isn’t it strange that your partner is this affected? It’s great that you’re at peace with yourself, but they should be too. If they’re this affected, maybe it’s not about you, but rather their own preferences :grimacing:
