The other day I tried a new hairdresser because with New Year’s coming up, I wanted a bit of a change. But I think I didn’t explain myself well, and they cut my hair pretty short. Right now I’m looking at myself in the mirror and feeling a bit odd. Will I gradually get used to it, or should I go to someone else to fix it? What do you think?
'I don’t want to start with
Let me speak frankly, if you’re looking at yourself in the mirror and thinking you look ‘weird’, it means you’re not satisfied. Why are you trying to ‘get used to it’? You’re looking for a model that suits you much better, maybe that’s the immediate solution. I think you should go to someone else and properly express what you want.
Actually, there are restorative benefits to very short haircuts; since the split ends are gone, it grows back quickly and healthily. But if it’s causing you a morale problem, reshaping it with another hairstylist could be a solution. If you take a photo of the exact style you want, the risk of misunderstanding decreases.
Thanks friends for the suggestions. I’ve been trying to get used to it for a few days now, but honestly, it’s a bit challenging. I’m trying to change my style, but it’s still not exactly how I want it. I scheduled an appointment with another hairdresser next week; I’m considering getting a bit of a fix, let’s see.
I swear, before blaming the hairdresser, think about how you explained it. You said something like, ‘I want a change,’ what does that mean to him? If you go to someone else and explain the same thing, the result might not be different. Choose what suits you clearly and go with that.
