Recently, I’ve actually been waking up at night and running to the cupboard. I can’t sleep without eating something sweet, especially. During the day, I’m on a diet and all, but at night I ruin everything. Has this become an addiction? Should I see a doctor, do you think? Or do you have any solutions for this?

5I’ve really been through this phase too. Especially at night, if I was short on chocolate, I sometimes couldn’t sleep, and when I woke up, I would wake up with stomach pain. Honestly, my solution was to drink warm milk before bed. It seems to suppress the sweet cravings a bit.
Sorry, but what an uncontrolled situation this is. Is it really a thing to diet during the day and then run to the fridge at night? I think it’s important to manage not just your day but also your evening. If you don’t set your own limits, no one else will do it for you ![]()
This is usually related to poor sleep quality. If your body is tired and you also have fluctuations in blood sugar, it’s normal to crave sweets. To solve this, you can consult an endocrinologist or simply get a blood test. The doctor will guide you.
Let me also add that I actually eat balanced meals during the day, but I have gotten into the habit of working late and end up feeling hungry. I noticed that, but I don’t know how to stop it. Work keeps stretching into the late hours.
I don’t have just one habit here; there could be other things as well. For example, you might be stressed or fixated on something. Cravings for sweets are usually linked to an emotional state. Ask yourself, why do you only crave sweets at night?
