Did I fail the scale because of late-night snacks?

I’ve been dieting lately, but I find myself overindulging in snacks at night. I’m seriously eating double what I didn’t eat during the day. Is it really possible to lose weight this way? Does anyone have suggestions for self-control?

The same happened to me. I was quite in control during the day but couldn’t hold it together at night. I found out I have insulin resistance, so that’s why I couldn’t escape from sweet cravings. Maybe if you see a doctor, the cause might be something else.

You can follow up with a dietitian for late-night eating crises. Explain that you’re experiencing such an issue directly and suggest adding a late-night meal. Or, make your dinner a bit more protein-heavy. Hunger control can vary

I mean, sorry, but if you’re not eating all day and then binge at night, that’s a bit your fault. It’s a matter of diet control. If you consciously allow yourself these slip-ups, maybe it needs to be addressed on a subconscious level too.

Are the things you eat at night usually the same? Is it always sweet or is there something salty too? Also, how long have you been living like this? Has it really become a habit now? :smiling_face_with_tear:

Let me add something: Generally sweet, but sometimes there are snacks or something, so I’m not choosing anything very specific. I’ve had this problem for about two months now, and every morning I feel regret.

What kind of logic is this “your own mistake”? Does everyone suddenly come into the world with perfect self-control? After all, we are human; we fall down and get back up. In nighttime crises, it can be not just willpower, but also hormonal effects.
